Steven R. Simon, MD, MPH
Principal Investigator, Project 2.

Steven Simon is a general internist, medical educator, and health services researcher. His research focuses on the evaluation of innovative medical education and quality improvement programs. He has led or participated in research projects and teaching programs spanning all levels of medical education, with emphasis on practicing physicians. Recently, his research has emphasized efforts to improve quality of care, specifically targeting educational outreach programs to enhance information technology interventions. Dr. Simon serves as co-principal investigator of an AHRQ-funded project to evaluate adoption of electronic health records in Massachusetts. Dr. Simon also serves on the Board of the Massachusetts
e-Health Collaborative.

Dr. Simon has led teaching and faculty development programs at Harvard and internationally. A member of Harvard's Academy of Medical Educators, Dr. Simon co-directs Clinical Epidemiology and Population Health, the required course for first-year medical students, and serves on the Massachusetts Medical Society's Committee on Medical Education.
