Project 3. Unintended Consequences of Electronic Prescribing

This project aims to:
     • determine the frequency of errors introduced
        by the use of electronic prescribing (e-prescribing)
        and their contributing factors in the community         setting
     • characterize the unintended consequences from
        the perspectives of the pharmacy, physician practices,
        and patients
     • develop recommendations for preventing errors
        from being introduced by e-prescribing systems and
        for mitigating other unintended consequences of
        e-prescribing.
